Powder Room Update

I've been working with a client to help update her beautiful home. She has wonderful furnishings and art but the rooms needed to be finished, pulled together. One of the rooms I worked on was the powder room off  the foyer. It is a room with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. It also has a large scaled neoclassic vanity. It seemed a bit out of place in the house but we decided to work with it. I added a large scaled, open pattern wall covering from Nina Campbell, bronze toned sconces from Currey & Co and a window treatment using a luscious silk fabric from Scalamandre.

The room was transformed. It went from looking heavy and boxy to a room with beautiful proportions.

The large scale plaid of the silk fabric works wonderfully with the open pattern of the wall covering. They create a balance for the heavy neoclassic vanity. A powder room that once looked like a mistake has become a stunning space.
